What is Forevergreen?

In this blog, we will explain the mission and vision behind Forevergreen. Our platform was built with three core goals: to enable individuals to take meaningful climate action, to build a community capable of driving disruptive change, and to educate and inspire people to make sustainable choices.

Making Sustainabilty Accessible to Everyone

At the core of Forevergreen we hope to empower individuals to understand and reduce their carbon footprint. Climate change is a global issue and figuring out how to make a difference especially as one person can be daunting and discouraging. Forevergreen aims to make the process simple with our easy to use and understand methodology. First we calculate your carbon emissions with our easy to use carbon calculator. This takes only a few minutes and asks questions about your transportation habits, diet, and energy use. 

The carbon calculator spits out a quantified number of emissions for the month and year. This gives you an idea of your environmental impact and helps you set measurable targets. We built the platform on a monthly model, where you take this survey on the first of every month so you can track your progress over time and see real reductions in your carbon footprint. There are a few ways you can choose to reduce your footprint, the first and free version is to make habitual changes that will reduce your monthly emissions. The second is to purchase carbon offset credits to reach net zero and support impactful climate projects. Carbon credits are tradable permits that represent 1 metric ton of carbon removed from the atmosphere. Businesses, educational institutions, and governments around the world are using them to reach their emissions targets and we built the first platform to enable consumers to take action as well. 

Through these efforts, we hope to simplify climate action for individual and enable them to understand their impacts and take meaningful actions.

Aggregate Individual Actions for Greater Impact

Beyond empowering individuals to take action, Forevergreen aims to amplify the collective impact of these efforts. By pooling contributions and tracking community progress, we demonstrate the power of collective action. As our community of net-zero individuals grows, we strive to drive larger, systemic changes. Our goal is to show that consumers have a genuine desire to create change change and build momentum for broader societal and environmental transformation. As more and more consumers pledge to reach net zero we can demand that corporations and governments do the same. While consumers are not directly responsible for the majority of emissions worldwide, our actions and choices enable businesses to maintain harmful practices. If we collectively agree to only support certain business that adhere to strict environmental standards, we will force the market to adapt and innovate to reach those standards. Collective consumer action has the power to drive massive downstream impacts and shift the priorities of businesses.

Educate and Inspire Lasting Change

Finally, we aim to educate and inspire action by raising awareness about climate change and its most pressing challenges. Carbon emissions are a significant part of the problem, driving global warming and threatening the planet's future. We are committed to providing high quality and free educational resources around sustainability and sustainable living. By promoting sustainable habits and accountability, we hope to create lasting change and shift mindsets toward sustainable systems.
